We advise that you prepare all the above ingredients before starting.

You will typically need: a scale, measuring cups, and mixing bowls.

Creamy Hot Chocolate

1 - Finely chop the dark chocolate and put it in a saucepan.

2 - Place the saucepan over medium-low heat. Pour ½ cup of milk on top of the dark chocolate and stir using a whisk until it simmers or until it is fully melted in the milk.

3 - Add the remaining milk to the saucepan and stir lightly.

4 - Once homogeneous, add the cocoa powder and the vanilla paste to your hot chocolate and bring it to a simmer.

5 - Finally, pour the heavy cream and bring it to a boil. When the hot chocolate starts to rise, remove the saucepan from the heat, add a pinch of salt, and pour into a mug. We love the new temperature control smart mug from Ember.

6 - Let the hot chocolate cool down for about 10 minutes before tasting or putting any topping on it.

7 - Add the final touches with some whipped cream topping, and shred some fresh chocolate on top of it using a zester.

8 - Enjoy!
