We advise that you prepare all the above ingredients before starting.

You will typically need: a scale, measuring cups, mixing bowls.

Homemade Sour Cream

1 - Combine all the ingredients together in a mixing bowlGive them a whisk and cover the bowl with a kitchen towel.

2 - Let it sit overnight at room temperature (or for a minimum of 12 hours).

3 - After 12 hours, place the sour cream in the fridge.

Tip: The longer the sour cream sits in the fridge, the thicker it will become.

Whole Wheat Garlic Naan Bread

1 - Pour the water into a mixing bowl and microwave it for 15 seconds, just to warm it up.

2 - Add the dry yeast and mix using a fork. Set it aside.

3 - Combine the whole wheat flour, baking powder, and salt in a stand mixer bowl. Give the preparation a quick mix using a whisk.

Tip: The KitchenAid Artisan Design Series and the KitchenAid Professional 600 Series are superstars among stand mixers and will look amazing in your kitchen!

4 - Pour the buttermilk, olive oil, and honey into the liquid mixture (step 2). Gently mix with a fork and set the bowl aside.

5 - Crush and peel a garlic clove on the cutting board using your knife like so.

Tip: We recommend you use a Santoku knife for this task. We love Japanese knives and recommend this quality kit from GLOBAL for home and professional chefs. We also love this reversible cutting board with integrated hand grips from John Boos.

6 - Dice the garlic cloves and sprinkle a pinch of salt over it. Keep working on it until finely diced. Set it aside in a mini bowl.

Tip: We store our spices and small quantities in these mini glass bowls from Duralex while cooking.

7 - Mince the parsley and add it to the flour mix (step 3), along with the diced garlic and the liquid ingredients (step 5).

8 - Knead everything for 15 minutes using the hook attachment of your stand mixer. While kneading, grease a large mixing bowl with olive oil and set it aside.

Tip: We use this porcelain pitcher for oil and small liquid quantities while cooking.

9 - Once the dough comes together and stops sticking to the edges of the bowl, transfer it into your greased mixing bowl, and cover it with some food wrap. Place the dough in the fridge and let it rest overnight (or for at least 12 hours).

Tip: letting the dough rest overnight helps to develop the garlic and parsley flavors.

The next day...

10 - Dust your countertop with flour, place the dough on the floured surface and form a square using your hands like so.

11 - Divide the dough in four using a bench knife.

Tip: You can find our recommended bench knives here: metal/plastic/wood, and plastic scrapers here

12 - Fold the edges of the dough, then gently spread it with your fingers to shape the naan pieces of bread, as shown here.

13 - Preheat a cast iron skillet over medium heat.

14 - Flour the inside of the skillet and place the bread in it. Let it cook for about 3 minutes on each side.

Tip: You know the bread is ready to flip when it stops sticking to the skillet.

15 - While the naan breads are cooling down, zest a lime using a zester and mince some fresh parsley. Add it all to the sour cream and stir with a spoon.

16 - Spread a generous amount of sour cream over the bread and sprinkle fresh slices of green onions on top.

17 - Enjoy!
