½ cup (70g) - Dark chocolate

2 oz (65g) - Butter

2 - Eggs

⅓ cup (60g) - Sugar

3 tbsp (25g) - Flour

We advise that you prepare all the above ingredients before starting.

You will typically need: a scale, measuring cups, and mixing bowls.

Chocolate Lava Cake

1 - Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

2 - Combine the chocolate and the butter in a small mixing bowl. Then, microwave for about 30 seconds (or until everything is completely melted). In this case, you want to microwave 30 seconds at a time to prevent the chocolate from burning.

3 - In a large bowl, crack two eggs and add all the sugar. Then, whisk until light and fluffy. You know it's ready when the eggs turn into a light yellow shade and the texture is foamy. You may use a whisk or an electric hand mixer. We recommend this 7-speed hand mixer from KitchenAid for its quality and elegant design.

4 - Pour the melted butter and chocolate on your eggs. Gently mix until well combined.

5 - Finally, incorporate the flour.

6 - Brush the inside of 4 individual oven-safe ramekins with melted butter, using a pastry brush (boar/silicone). Then, coat them with a thin layer of sugar.

Tip: This will help you unmold the cake.

7 - Bake at 375°F (190°C) for about 18 minutes.

8 - Enjoy!
